BEHIND THE SCENES: Sometimes the problem with my using corrugated cardboard as a plate is that, well, when printed it will look like I used corrugated cardboard as the plate. (But certainly not true for others—I’ve seen printmakers use this same cardboard material and produce magnificent, powerful imagery). These cardboard cut-outs with styrofoam dots were my experiment with materials —it was fun and the outcome worked for me. To quote my mentor, printmaking master and friend Kathy Caraccio “a good printer can print anything”—and she sure did.
