Rosenberg writes about the collection: “Narrowing down almost 800 works to a final 26 was an assiduous task — so many could easily have been included in the final exhibition. I was focused on choosing a selection that pushed the idea of "mapping" conceptually in various directions, with artists employing diverse approaches in choice of their medium and technique. I ensured that the range of materials utilized all aspects of the intimate, but thoughtfully constructed, gallery space, starting with the two-dimensional print on the wall, then on to more textured and sometimes unusual materials of relief work, and finally fully into the space with small, surprising sculptural pieces.”
